we spent Saturday at Hoopfest in downtown Spokane. This shot is early before the games and the crowds descended. The building on the far right is scheduled for demolition by mid-July, which means this art deco edifice is about to become...a parking lot. Of course.

seth fisher

I was saddened to learn of the death of comic book artist Seth Fisher.

Fisher created truly unique visions that rose above the cliches of modern comics. He was a soft-spoken gentleman when I met him at the San Diego Comic-Con two summers ago, graciously showing me pages from the recent Batman series he'd done.
I'm sorry to see him go.
